Job
Description Summary
The Program Manager for the Fife-Penn STEM & CS Academy provides leadership, planning, and coordination for a
flagship STEM outreach initiative that introduces elementary and middle school students to computer science, engineering, AI, robotics, and
STEM pathways. This role is responsible for supporting curriculum delivery, coordinating program logistics, overseeing instructors and
student coordinators, and collaborating with schools and community partners. The Program Manager will report directly to the Director of
Community Engagement & Outreach.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Program Design & Implementation:
Design and implement curriculum and hands-on activities in STEM and computer science tailored to elementary and middle school learners.
Align lessons with college and workforce readiness pathways and apply best practices in K-8 STEM education and outreach. - Partnership
Development: Build and maintain relationships with school districts, elementary and middle schools, teachers, and community partners.
Coordinate student recruitment in collaboration with district and school stakeholders. Represent the Academy at meetings, school events, and
outreach fairs. - Staff & Student Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise graduate and undergraduate STEM coordinators,
instructors, and volunteers. Provide mentorship and ensure staff and students are prepared to deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction
and support. - Logistics & Operations: Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, space reservations, materials, transportation,
and catering. Coordinate school communications, participate in partner school leadership meetings, and attend district training sessions.
Ensure compliance with university policies, program standards, and child safety requirements. - Data, Communications & Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report program data, including student participation, learning outcomes, and impact. Maintain the Fife Academy website
and news updates to ensure current and accurate information is shared. Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations for internal and
external stakeholders. - Cross-Program Support: Support multiple outreach initiatives; assist with certificates, thank-you letters,
and acknowledgments.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM education, engineering, computer science, or
related field and 3-5 years of experience in program management, K-12 education, or youth-serving organizations or an equivalent combination
of education and experience. - Experience working with elementary and middle school students in STEM contexts.
- Strong
organizational, project management, and communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data management
systems. - Must pass a PA background check for working with minors.
Preferred:
- Experience in K-12, informal, or higher
education program management. - Experience with surveys, data collection, and reporting.
- Familiarity with maintaining
websites, newsletters, and social media content. - Experience working with schools and community stakeholders.
Physical
Requirements:
- Ability to move between program spaces
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for program materials.
- Travel to
school and community events.
