About the role
This is a Team Leader role within IT Services, managing a small team of system experts responsible for the maintenance and development of the University’s core administrative academic and teaching & learning systems, including the student record system (Tribal SITS), the virtual learning environment (Blackboard) and the student timetabling system (Scientia Syllabus Plus). The role holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the team as well as working on projects to implement innovative technical solutions to improve the systems’ efficiency and effectiveness.
About you (requirements)
We are looking for someone with strong management skills and supported by the relevant technical knowledge of core learning and teaching systems. Experience of working in the higher education sector and similar systems would be an advantage, you should have the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with other teams to help deliver key projects and improvements, and experience of leading a small team.

About IT Services
Our mission is to deliver value to the University through the delivery of services that are relevant, reliable and agile to changing business needs as we transition from utility providers to strategic enablers in the digital context.
The department comprises three divisions (Business Processes & Governance, Technical Services and User Experience) which together provide an operating model that is aligned to deliver on the strategic aims of the University.
We are a close-knit, collaborative and service-led department.
