We have an exciting opportunity for a Grade 6 Bioinformatician, that wants to further develop their skills.
We are seeking to appoint a bioinformatician with programming experience to support the creation of a cell atlas within the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Parasitology (WCIP) at the University of Glasgow.
The postholder will help implement a cell atlas at the WCIP based on the cellXgene project. This post will include integrating single-cell transcriptomics data, spatial data and other OMICS related data for parasite data generated at the Centre.
The postholder will implement, for example, API-services to VEuPathDB, different data representations, pseudo time, allow species comparison, perform robust and publishable analysis of high-throughput data, statistical analyses, development and maintenance of software pipelines and tools. The postholder will also be expected to process data, generated at the Centre, into new atlases and contribute to formulating and submitting research publications and research proposals and helping manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities arise.
This position will start mid-August 2022 and is funded until September 2023.
