Postdoctoral Research Associate in Decentralised Finance and Digital Economics

This is a two-year, fixed-term position, and the post-holder will be based here at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, in the world-leading Oxford Octa Lab in Digital Economics. The Oxford-Octa Lab in Digital Economics is working on initiatives in FinTech, AI applications, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a versatile academic background in performing mathematical and/or computational research in the area of mathematical finance, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and theories. They will write their research up for publication and will fully participate in the activities of the Lab.  You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics, computer science or a related discipline, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes, alongside a good level of programming skill in Python, R or similar programming platforms. Core duties will include leading a team of Business instructors in delivering teaching to undergraduate students from across the Northeastern Global Network, and in due course, building the College’s provision in the area of Business. Department In the first instance, the appointee will work in a multidisciplinary team under the Dean for Education in Business and Economics. In a typical academic year, the team includes approximately 15 academic staff, including instructors in Economics, Business, Marketing, Mathematics, and Finance. The quality of teaching in the Faculty is high, as evidenced, for example, through scores in the National Student Survey and External Examiner reports. Research is supported by the College’s central research structures, and the Faculty is represented on the College’s active Research Committee. About the College Founded in 2012, New College of the Humanities has established itself as a prestigious higher education institution based in the heart of London.
