Online Tutor: Collaboration

We are looking to recruit an Online Tutor to join our Falmouth Flexible team delivering an interdisciplinary collaborative module. Your role will involve working on the Collaboration module which is all about teamworking, collective creation and challenge-based learning. The module helps students develop ‘soft skills’, such as communication skills, problem-solving, work ethic, critical thinking, leadership, teamworking, listening, and negotiation which will enhance students’ employability and interpersonal awareness. Students will experience the environment of a collaborative team and will work in groups towards the formulation of complex solutions to industry focussed and real-life problems.
This module content is already recorded, the online tutor leads discussions and reviews students work in weekly tutorials and webinars as well as facilitates groupwork and discussions. Students engage with pre-recorded content that has been created by module leaders in the virtual learning environment and work through this during the week in their own time and come together to meet their online tutor for live sessions.
As the Online Tutor you will deliver live sessions such as webinars and tutorials to a global cohort of students. Around these live sessions you will be responsible for pastoral support, and academic guidance via emails, one to ones, group tutorials, and online spaces You will work closely with the course leader and module leaders to ensure best possible student experience. The hours for this role are flexible and spread throughout the week as agreed by your line manager. The cohort is global so the times of these sessions will alternate am and pm to ensure all can attend. The flexibility of this role means that you can fit the hours around existing responsibilities. Each online tutor is responsible for no more than 30 students, making this an extremely rewarding role.
This is a fixed term, part-time, 7 hours per week, flexible home-working role which starts in September 2022 and will support a group of students for 16 weeks until January 2023.
About You
Educated to degree level, or having equivalent industry experience, the ideal candidate will have experience in working with groups of students from diverse backgrounds at HE level. Student focused, well organised, and digitally literate you will be running live tutorials, webinars, online workshops and providing support for a group of students. You will have experience and knowledge linked to collaborative learning and practice and a disciplinary background related to an established Falmouth University discipline (https://www.falmouth.ac.uk/study/online) and preferably previous experience facilitating and supervising educational project work. You will have excellent communication skills and the commitment to deliver an excellent online learning experience for students. Alongside these key skills, you will have knowledge of assessment and pastoral support. We are looking to hear from candidates who also have the following skills/experience:
An understanding of the principles and practicalities of online learning
Strong connections with industry and professional practice
Excellent digital literacy
Excellent interpersonal, organisation and presentation skills
HE Teaching experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Pastoral Support team at Kirklees College. Although the post may be based at the Huddersfield Centre, our Dewsbury Centres or one of our other sites, flexibility to travel to other college sites is required of the successful candidate.
The overall purpose of the post is to provide effective coaching to ‘at risk’ students on an individual basis or in a group setting to support the success and progression. You will work in collaboration with curriculum staff and internal/external agencies to support students where there are barriers to engaging with education. You will provide pastoral support as well as being the lead contact for safeguarding disclosures for an identified caseload of students.
The ideal candidates will have previous experience of working with 16 – 19 year olds, including disengaged ‘hard to reach’ students who have barriers to meeting expectations of behaviour and will be able to understand the range of support which may be necessary to help them succeed. You will need excellent communication skills, a commitment to the welfare of young people in education and a willingness to undertake relevant staff development.

Following a recent restructure to expand and improve our SEND provision, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the SEND Department within the Student Experience Directorate at Kirklees College. The position of SENDCO will join other dedicated professionals to manage a team of staff within a curriculum area, whilst also providing cross college specialist support and training for LDD.
The successful applicant will provide high quality LDD support across the college, working with others to ensure appropriate plans and strategies are in place to support from school transitions, into, through and out of college to a positive destination. The successful candidate will be able to line manage staff, deliver training to support students and staff, provide, monitor and act upon data relevant to LDD across the college, the curriculum area and EHCP’s also maintaining a successful LDD support provision. 
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with young people to provide LDD support in an educational capacity, have in-depth knowledge of EHCP’s and be able to use their own judgement and initiative in complex situations leading to successful outcomes.

As Director you will lead multidisciplinary teams in the development and delivery of a range of student recruitment, marketing, communications, admissions and development and alumni activities. This is a senior leadership role, part of the Chief Performance, Strategy and Operations Officers’ senior team and reporting directly into the University Executive Board. This role will provide visible cross-University leadership across all areas of activity and will hold overall responsibility for driving the External Relations and managing the institution’s reputation and brand. We are looking for a credible expert who can build great relationships to be able to influence and inspire colleagues at all levels. 
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys working in a fast paced, busy environment and has a strong customer service ethos. Experience of the higher education sector is not necessary as we are searching for a leader that can build great teams and deliver transformational improvement. You will bring experience of working for a value driven, complex organisation and will have a track record of successfully developing and delivering effective marketing strategies.
