The role
As a Level 2 swimming teacher you will help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water.
What will you be doing?
You will be working on a learn to swim programme, delivering a range of lessons to children and adults.  You will plan and deliver in line with the scheme of work and create  lesson plans that will identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
You will plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of the swimmer.  When teaching you will provide explanations, demonstrate and correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance for the individual swimmers.
You should be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.  Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of appropriate certificates.

Research Officer WIPAHS

The Welsh Institute of Physical Activity, Health and Sport (WIPAHS) was created in 2019 to increase the research capacity of Sport Wales in collaboration with Universities across Wales, with the aim of promoting the health benefits associated with sport, physical activity and recreation. The Welsh Institute of Physical Activity, Health and Sport is a two-way partnership between Sport Wales and Wales’s leading academic health, sport and exercise scientists based across all Universities in Wales (Swansea University, University of South Wales, Bangor University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Aberystwyth University, Wrexham Glyndŵr, University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Cardiff University). This partnership also engages key stakeholders who are pivotal to the generation of projects and direction of WIPAHS.
This is an exciting and dynamic senior role within the Welsh Institute of Physical Activity, Health and Sport (WIPAHS) to support its long term delivery, sustainability and income generation and associated work. It will build upon the WIPAHS brand and reputation to explore wider philanthropic and other external sources of funding, nationally and internationally.
The role will involve the development and delivery of a range of major commissioned projects and support work, consistent with the mission and vision of WIPAHS to use the transformative power of physical activity and sport to promote the Nation’s health and wellbeing.
This senior role will include identifying and negotiating opportunities as well as managing and contributing expertise to deliver the work to a high standard in order to challenge, change and champion WIPAHS and the translation of its work to policy and practice. Central to the achievement of this will be the dissemination of the findings to diverse audiences.
The candidate should hold a PhD in a relevant subject area or appropriate level of experience, have demonstrable knowledge of physical activity, health and/or sport promotion and knowledge of relevant policies and their development and implementation. Furthermore, the candidate should have experience managing multi- disciplinary and -institution projects and ensuring their successful delivery and dissemination. It is desirable but not essential that the candidate is able to communicate in Welsh.
A satisfactory DBS certificate must be provided before a start date is confirmed.

Project Officer – Active Ageing

Location: De Havilland Campus, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire
The successful applicant will be required to manage the operational delivery of the Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire movement, including connecting local organisations to national active ageing offers, organising and delivering local learning webinars and events, launching and administrating a new countywide ambassador training programme, communicating developments to key stakeholders to encourage collaboration and updating the movement’s website.
You will also be responsible for the effective delivery of the Active Together programme, including managing relationships with delivery partners, promoting the development and use of the Moving More Activity Finder, promoting access to active ageing bid writing services, generating new interventions, and learning opportunities to benefit those living with long term health conditions and maintaining reporting requirements to ensure key performance indicators are met.
You will also act as HSP’s active ageing representative for all matters, acting as first point of contact for all related enquiries, representing the partnership at national learning and sharing events and attending key partner engagement and networking events.
The postholder will have previous experience in community development and community engagement work including partnership working, and experience in coordinating and facilitating community projects and events. You will have experience of working within a sports development, community development, leisure management, health improvement or equivalent environment. 
You will be comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital engagement tools competently, including social media platforms. You will have strong communication skills, including confidence to present information to large both in person and virtually.
The postholder will also need to have experience of preparing project plans, delivering projects and some financial management including budgetary control and financial forecasting.

As a Climbing Duty Officer, you will run sessions across all ages and ability levels, including our NICAS and Squad programmes and GCSE PE sessions for school groups. You will also be booking customers onto these sessions, all as part of a dedicated team of Instructors, receptionists and other Duty Officers. You will have regular opportunities for route setting on our roped and boulder walls. You will be a point of escalation for day-to-day problems the freelance team members might face, reporting back to the Climbing Duty Manager should anything require further escalation.  The University of Hull began a Sports Transformation Project (STP) in 2016 which had seen a £16m facility investment in sport facilities which is due for completion in the summer of 2019.
 The completion of our facility investment will see the delivery of an international standard Sport Arena, state of the art commercial fitness facility, bespoke strength and conditioning suite as well as a range of external artificial surfaces. 
 Alongside the facility investment the University of Hull Sport Department has recently completed a rebrand to be known as Hull Sport.
 At the heart of Hull Sport is a commitment to create a place where Health and Fitness really is for everyone, whether it’s someone training for their next PB or someone trying out a new activity for the very first time. 
 With this in mind we are looking to add a motivated individual to our Hull Sport Fitness team (28.5 hours per week),  to assist in delivering an excellent experience to both current and prospective members as well as wider facility users.
