You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to work on your own initiative and make appropriate decisions. Significant experience of management in a similar, busy environment with proven experience of effectively managing people are essential qualities required for this role.

You will provide effective team leadership and management and provide the technical lead on specific projects. You will ensure a high-quality customer experience for staff and users, and deliver high standards of health and safety to ensure safe management and delivery of technical requirements/operations for all events on and off site. You will be highly skilled in either technical stage operations and rigging, lighting and electrics, sound, or projection and AV and have a good knowledge of one other area as a strong secondary skill. A positive, pro-active approach to people and technical management with the associated high levels of interpersonal skills are essential for this post.

The individual will be responsible for the development and delivery of male and female performance programmes. This will include creating and developing partnerships with the National and County Football Associations, as well as providing the bridge between the university performance programme, and Durham Women Football Club. The individual will need to develop a support structure and coaching network around the performance programme of both football and futsal.
The individual will oversee the growth of broader football initiatives in line with the strategic priorities of the Student Enrichment Directorate, which will include, but will not be limited to;
The development of college football and the relevant support structures;
The development of community programmes;
The development of income generative initiatives;
Supporting the development of a coaching and refereeing hub.

Key Tasks:

Additional Information

Assistant Sports Duty Manager: Facilities Directorate, Outdoor

The University of Leeds has recently made a significant investment into its outdoor sporting facilities with a £9.3 million investment at our Sports Park Bodington site. This included the construction of the new Football Community Pavilion and three SiS 3G Rubber Crumb FIFA Quality Pitches. Other recent projects on the site have included a £5.2 million investment into the new Brownlee Centre and a £1.6km closed road circuit.  
Responsible to the Facility Manager, you will contribute to the management of the day-to-day operation of the Outdoor Sport facilities and assist with the supervision of operational staff on shift. You will ensure that excellent customer service is provided to all customers and visitors and that the facilities remain safe, clean, and well maintained at all times.
You will have proven experience working in a Sport or Leisure Facility in a supervisory capacity, with experience of monitoring and maintaining high standards in facility presentation and customer service. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.   You will hold a relevant First Aid qualification and Food Hygiene certificate.
This full-time role will work on a 5 over 7 shift basis and will include the requirement for you to work early mornings (6am start), evenings (11pm finish), weekends, University closure days and Bank holidays.   
This job will be based across our 2 Outdoor sites; Sports park Weetwood and Sports park Bodington.
