Job Description:
SUMMARY
Provides film/photo
students and faculty with equipment for classroom instruction and student
assignments college wide. Provides basic Technical and instructional support to
students for equipment, printers and MAC labs located in the Creative Arts
Department.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows procedures for film/photo equipment sign-out and sin-in for students and
- Performs duties that include; functionality checks, inventory, battery maintenance, cleaning, surplus, and proper storage of film/photo equipment Cleans and maintains secured equipment areas by dusting, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming
- Performs basic troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment, reports any damaged equipment or unresolved computer and software problems to the program manager
- Conducts orientation for film/photo classes at the beginning of each semester on the checkout area (cage), rules and equipment usage to ensure that students have basic knowledge of equipment operations and safety standards
- Assists students with the use of the lab equipment, computers and software during open MAC labs, including assistance with editing, design, and animation software
- Opens and closes the labs, ensuring equipment is stored securely
- Provides technical support in print labs to include; firmware updates, hardware updates, ICC updates, nozzle inspections and ink/paper replacement in printers, assisting students with printing and other activities in lab
- Anticipates and meets all customer needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to customer satisfaction
- Assists manager with training of new staff on equipment usage and departmental procedures
- Performs office duties including; answering telephones, answering student and faculty inquiries, checking an responding to emails, entering equipment reservations, submitting FAMIS requests, submitting weekly reports as determined by manager, etc.
- Maintains records of daily lab usage by students
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Associate’s degree in film, photography or related field
- Basic-level proficiency with Microsoft suite
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Possesses verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs with experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom and After Effects
- Working knowledge of digital cameras, lenses, remote audio equipment and related gear
- Working knowledge and skills in grip & electrical operations
- Working knowledge of photography printers and related equipment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to be creative and exercise initiative
- Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills
- Works accurately with great attention to detail
- Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

- The technical work is
performed on location that may include; classrooms, TV studios, photo
studios, computer labs, print labs, equipment cages etc. - Typically, the employee
and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer
mouse, keyboard to type and hand tools. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of film
equipment (up to 40lbs) - Work may require walking
and standing for long periods of time - May require travel to attend
meetings and conferences away from the worksite - Position is college wide
and will require working at various campuses and satellite sites as
assigned
This is a Part-Time (1199/SEIU) Bargaining Unit Position, Grade ##. Part-Time (1199/SEIU) bargaining unit employees at Cuyahoga Community College will be considered first for vacant positions.
Target Hiring Rate: Minimum salary $21.00/hr
The final offer for the successful
candidate is targeted to fall within this range, but will be based upon an
assessment of internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s
qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
