We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic postdoctoral data scientist to join our team in delivering a cutting-edge research programme of integrating and analysing the data of  several large-scale Covid-19 studies, including GenOMICC and ISARIC4C, to ultimately improve clinical outcomes for these patients.

The Opportunity:

A full-time position is available for a talented postdoctoral data scientist to join our team at a very exciting time. This is an excellent opportunity to gain academic research experience in large-scale health data and to work on Covid-19 research projects that will have significant impact on characterising this disease.

Our well-established laboratory (, situated in the Roslin Institute (Easter Bush Campus), includes a multidisciplinary team with a range of skills from statistical genetics and genomics, to molecular biology and immunology, working together to understand host susceptibility to critical illness, as part of the translational genomics in critical care research programme.

The post holder will play a key role in developing and maintaining large-scale genetic and phenotypic Covid-19 datasets, providing unparalleled characterisation of the disease.

Working on data from various large-scale and acclaimed studies, including GenOMICC, ISARIC4C, and PHOSP-Covid, the post holder will have an exceptional opportunity to work collaboratively with the lab team, colleagues at the UK national supercomputer and NHS data safe haven the Edinburgh Parallel Compute Centre (EPCC), and with researchers from across the UK.
