Employability Business Development Consultant

PR, Marketing - UK Jobs

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world’s largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 1,000 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

We are looking for a 1.0FTE Employability Business Development Consultant for our Business School. Our student numbers are growing significantly and there is a resulting need to build more relationships with employers who may wish to engage with and recruit ULBS students.

We have a wide range of opportunities for employers including campus visits and classroom interaction as well as a talented pool of candidates for work experience, internships, placements and graduate roles.

The successful candidate will work with an Employability Business Development Manager to expand current activity and promote ULBS to the UK and international market. A large percentage of our students are international and thus relevant experience would be particularly valuable.

The role will be partly campus based – applications are welcome for the role to be based at any of the ULaw campuses with ULBS courses – see Job Description – although it will also include some working from home in keeping with the Employability Service hybrid work model.

You will join a team supporting our Business students which is expected to grow significantly over the next 6 months and also be part of a wider Employability Service with an excellent reputation and track record.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact:

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check – you will be notified during the application process.

What do we offer?

We offer an inclusive and supportive work environment and are committed to developing our staff through a variety of means including educational sponsorship, discounted course fees and a range of in-house training.

Our approach

Equity and Inclusion is central to everything we do. We are actively committed to promoting and participating in good practice in the way we attract and retain staff, as we appreciate the value and benefits of a truly diverse workforce. Aligned to this is the opportunity to join one of our three peer staff networks for Disabled staff, LGBTQ+ staff and staff from an underrepresented race, ethnicity and/or cultural heritage.

We celebrate difference and recognise the benefits that this brings to our inclusive culture, including age, disability, gender identity and expression, religion, race, sex, sexual orientation and socio economic background. The University is committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population and wider society; we are striving to increase the representation of Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds across all roles and at all levels. All appointments will be made on merit.
