We are looking to appoint an Executive Assistant and Research Coordinator within the School of Medicine Academic Unit 2 (Translational Medical Sciences).

The purpose of this role will be to assist and support the Deputy Director of AU2, who is also the Gastrointestinal and Liver Disorders Theme Lead of the NIHR-funded Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre, carrying out academic research. This includes diary management, data collating for reports, report co-ordination, literature searches, assisting in the facilitation of large grant proposals, facilitating clinical trials administration, ethics and governance in conjunction with the NHS and the Research Facilitator for the Deputy Director’s research studies.

The role holder will also be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Deputy Director’s office, including being an informed gatekeeper and facilitating meetings.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail; be able to work using their initiative effectively and have strong problem-solving skills. Experience of working within higher education administration and/or a clinical research environment is desirable.

The job is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term contract until 31st March 2024. However arrangements for job share would be considered.
