Through both the knowledge exchange framework and recent research excellence framework the School continues to address the needs of society in a range of thematic endeavours to support innovation and skills development of business, to strengthen local community engagement through practice and research and to improve international connectivity and ranking. As Head of Knowledge Exchange, Practice and Research in STEM, you are central to the success of these goals. You will develop new strategies to support school KE and practice plans to enhance outcomes. You will build partnerships with business, local community, the public sector and academic stakeholders to promote knowledge exchange and broaden practice and research endeavours. You will support the Associate Dean of Research to continue to enhance the success of the School which, for three out of the four units of assessment in REF 2021, achieved 96%+ international and world leading research outputs.

Candidates will bring experience of working in a relevant academic leadership role and deep experience and knowledge of approaches to practice and knowledge exchange, fostering research capabilities in one or more subject areas in the School. Adept at planning and delivering major research or enterprise projects along with managing relationships with external stakeholders, you will have strong interpersonal skills and a track record of success in income generation.
