After significant and sustainable growth since opening in 2018, the LC is entering a new era as we consolidate our operation in new, larger premises. 

Our new premises are based in a community of businesses, charities, incubators and universities, with cafés, bars, nurseries, gyms and supermarket, which are all on site, providing a wonderful campus feel. It is also newly fitted out to be digitally enabled and provide a warm and welcoming environment, with breath taking views over the River Thames.   

The LC team prides itself on being collegiate, collaborative, and supportive and actively works together to create a coaching culture with the aim to ensure a sense of belonging for staff and students. These factors are essential as we push boundaries and work at pace, with agility whilst in harmony, to achieve ambitious and rewarding goals.

We currently offer master’s courses and apprenticeships in business and computer science disciplines and are set to grow our portfolio over the coming months and years.  All of our courses are complemented by embedded employability, careers and enterprise initiatives.  We also offer our sector leading Venture Creation Lab programme to all second-year students which helps develop their employability and entrepreneurial mind-set to secure a professional level role or to launch their own start up as independent or collaborative entrepreneur.

The role

The Head of Programme (HoP) Business is a new role and will develop a team of dynamic, forward-thinking and progressive academics who will create content, deliver lectures and seminars on the following new programmes: 

  • MSc International Project Management (2022 start)
  • MSc Digital Marketing (2022 start)
  • MSc Global Healthcare Management (2022 start)
  • MSc/MPH Public Health (2023 start)
  • MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2023 start)

The HoP Business will join two other HoP’s who will each lead on the MBA programmes and the computer science programmes. All HoP’s will join our newly formed, close knit, Senior Academic Leadership Team (SALT) to work with the London Campus Director and key professional service staff to help shape and drive forward the future growth and success of the campus.

The HoP’s will also lead on one or more areas, including, research, academic or enterprise, and support the growth in related activity. This will include Executive Education, Apprenticeships and new course development. Each HoP will lead a team of Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and Visiting Lecturers and ensure the culture reflects that of the university and the LC.

Our new HoP’s will enjoy empowering and supporting academic and professional service staff to succeed collectively as a team. They will also come with experience of working at a senior level with sound knowledge of developments underpinning Higher Education and a keen awareness of external factors and pressures.

Key requirements include (see person specification for the further details):

  • Experience in leading business-related programmes, preferably at master’s level.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and professional experience.
  • Experience in Higher Education and a deep understanding of the needs of students in relation to learning, teaching and assessment.
  • A track record of successful research in a relevant discipline area.
