Salary: UH4 £21,686 pa to £22,847 pa with potential to increase to £24,871 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

Location: Bishops Square, Hatfield

Due to an increase in workload we are seeking three Human Resources Administrators to work in our fast-paced and challenging HR environment within the welcoming and supportive HR Hourly Paid and Recruitment Salaried teams. There is potential to complete the Masters in Human Resource Management at a later date for applicants with the right qualifications and experience.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and take part in HR-related projects to support the University’s strategic aims and continually improve our services. Each postholder will initially join either the Hourly Paid team or Salaried team, and will then undertake a formal rotation into the other to gain a broad understanding of our service delivery models and processes. We are currently operating flexible location principles with both remote working and time on campus.

You will participate in the work of the Hourly Paid and Recruitment Salaried teams as part of the HR operational support to the University.

Whilst within Hourly Paid you will oversee and deliver the total lifespan of all hourly paid appointments, from advertising of roles when required though to appointment of staff, to ending appointments. This will include pre-recruitment checks including appointments for students, Right to Work checks, briefing recruiting managers and supporting delivery of induction and University-wide events.

Whilst in Recruitment Salaried you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of staff vacancies from receiving the initial approval to recruit, through to onboarding of the successful appointee. This includes liaising with staff at all levels across the University, working with external advertising agencies, completion of pre-employment checks and providing a high standard of customer service to all stakeholders.

You may have an opportunity to complete a rotation period within other teams within Human Resources. You will be allocated to one of the two teams in the first instance and return to that team after rotation.

You will have good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. A methodical approach is needed, and your application will show you are able to prioritise a busy and varied workload. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. You will be a strong team player, able to engage with colleagues and have the ability to work independently. You will be a good communicator (written and verbal) with a strong customer focus.

You will hold GCSEs (or equivalents) in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
