bwtech@UMBC, a 525,000 square foot research and technology park, houses 130 tenants and operates two technology incubators (life
sciences, cybersecurity/lT) across two separate campuses. bwtech@UMBC’s mission is to support entrepreneurship and the research and
technology commercialization goals of UMBC.

Telework:
A hybrid telework schedule may be available after completion of probationary
period.
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Accounting Associate provides complex administrative
support.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Review and/or process financial documents in Account Payable, such as
invoices, journal entries, requisitions, receipts, contracts, conference room billing, USM Foundation Transactions. Run reports to ensure
accuracy and resolve any discrepancies. - Places and expedites small procurement orders and processes and distributes requisitions,
purchase orders and other necessary documents in the UMBC Procurement System (PAW). - Using & maintaining of owns State Purchasing
Credit Card Transactions, reconciling each month, and having the appropriate backup paperwork. Filing electronically, per State of Maryland
Regulations. - Processing Accounts Receivable; processing express deposits, bank transfers and wire account deposits by reviewing
entries, verifying amounts, and compiling & comparing balances. Resolve any discrepancies & follow up with clients when necessary. Ensure
payments are made to the correct account and processed in a timely manner. Perform various Accounts Payable/Receivable functions. - Research and resolve vendor payment problems.
- Process and monitor Annual contracts & invoice payments. Resolve discrepancies
with vendors and/or service provider. Maintain and setup contracts for EIRs, facilities & equipment - Prepare monthly Account
Receivable Aging Report, and sending out late notices to clients. - Backup for bwtech’s Admin Assistances – South & North Campuses
(Conference Room Reservations/billing & payroll, etc.) - Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 Years Accounting Clerical Experience
- Customer Service
Experience and/or cash handling & Payment Processing Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 Years
Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Experience - PAW Experience (Procurement Purchasing System)
- PeopleSoft Finance and HR
Experience
Background Screening Statement:

Salary:
Pay Range 09 (minimum: $22.41/hour maximum: $29.68) based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay
Program, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a
variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and
qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range.
The above salary range represents
the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
