This position is recognized as the lead classified position of the
Enrollment Services department group. This includes the following units: Admissions, Advising & Transfer Services, Enrollment
Communications, Financial Aid, Records & Registration, and Testing Services. This employee represents the Vice President of Enrollment
Management and supports the diverse components of Enrollment Services as a whole. As the lead classified role in this department group, this
employee is called upon to supervise office procedures and resolve problems.
Although the Administrative Assistant does not directly
supervise and evaluate staff members, this person plays a leadership role in office operations and is often the first point of contact for
complex or sensitive situations. Routine responsibilities include overseeing processes such as tuition appeals, withdrawal appeals, and
residency determinations. The employee must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as procedures, systems, and operational needs
evolve.
Due to the nature of daily interactions in this position, errors in judgment can have significant consequences. The
Administrative Assistant frequently communicates sensitive or unwelcome news regarding tuition, appeals, and residency issues under the
direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management. This requires tact, diplomacy, and strong problem-solving skills to prevent issues
from escalating into prolonged or unproductive situations. Consequences of errors in these areas could include legal actions against the
College and potential harm to the College’s reputation within the community.
Primary Functions
-
Assist and
support the VP EM in matters pertaining to this department group. Represent the VP EM in dealings with students, faculty, staff, or the
general public. Support the offices that report to the VP EM by acting as the lead classified position for all covered areas. This includes
supervising office procedures and solving problems and handle problematic situations with professionalism, tact, and
diplomacy. -
Manage communications with students, faculty, and staff related to those areas that comprise Enrollment
Services. -
Manage communications with students, faculty, and staff related to those areas that comprise Enrollment
Services.

Review and manage processes related to appeals, including tuition appeals, withdrawal appeals, grade appeals, and
other similar workflows that require support. -
Provide training and support to those areas that come under the umbrella of
Enrollment Services in matters relating to office operations.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications
-
High School diploma or G.E.D.
-
1-3 years job-related experience in a professional office
setting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to handle confidential matters with
discretion.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to screen and solve problems.

Ability
to work independently with general supervision. -
Skilled at managing multiple tasks and priorities.

Ability to
work within and respond effectively to time constraints. -
Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
Hourly Range $21.2601 – $22.7483 (commensurate with experience)
