POSITION DETAILS


Brooklyn College is
soliciting applications for an Administrative Coordinator who will coordinate activities and ticket operations with the highest degree of
customer service and accuracy for the Tow Performing Arts Center Box Office. Reporting to the Associate Bursar, the Box Office Coordinator
will respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests, and train Box Office personnel and collaborate with Tow Center personnel.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include but are not limited to:


  • Process ticket sales in-person, over
    the phone, and online, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and processing vouchers or exchanges.
  • Provide
    information on showtimes, ticket availability, and seating (including ADA requirements).
  • Sort and distribute tickets to patrons,
    internal departments and external companies.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and problems via email, window, day of event, or
    phone.
  • Responsible for all event creation and maintenance of ShoWare Ticketing System
  • Reconcile daily cash drawers,
    Box Office receipts and event income.
  • Responsible for secure transfer on all monies taken in, deposited into secure combination
    safe and bought to Student Payment Services (Office of the Bursar) for deposit according to CUNY cash accountability policy.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external companies regarding operating procedure to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Develop training materials and procedural manuals and implement usage of same.
  • Provide sales/revenue reports to supervisor and
    colleagues.
  • Supervise and train office staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication, customer service, mathematical, analytical, and computer skills
  • Excellent time management and
    organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
  • Knowledge of ShoWare ticketing
    system or similar program
  • Experience in ticket sales and distribution

    databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains
    department archives and collections.
  • Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate
    information related to department activities.
  • Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and
    invoice processing.
  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who
    contact the department.
  • May supervise office staff and student workers.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS


$48,647 – $54,725; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
