Summary
The Admissions Coordinator guides the direction, administration, and supervision of admissions transactions, ensuring
they are completed promptly in compliance with college, state, and federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. The Admissions Coordinator
ensures all admissions transactions are provided in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable college, state, and
federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. Provides support to potential students and helps currently enrolled students in evaluating
student credentials, checking standardized test scores, reviewing applications, maintain student records, and reading high school
transcripts. The Admissions Coordinator does not supervise others.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate and
organized documentation and reporting of admissions data in compliance with reporting requirements. - Manages both computerized and
hard-copy file systems of departmental records. - Organizes and deploys student workers and volunteers for community events, ensuring
adequate staffing and smooth operations while providing valuable experience and engagement opportunities for participants. - Provides
direction on policies and procedures to Admissions Staff, training them on admission and records processes and how functions impact student
billing. - Checks prospective student credentials and standardized test scores, reviewing applications and high school
transcripts. - Reviews and evaluates requests from students to be considered as in-state residents for tuition
purposes. - Ensures efficient and accurate management of the Student Information System (SIS) for admissions, maintaining current
processes and information in compliance with college policies and procedures. - Ensures smooth admissions and registration processes
by providing comprehensive support and clear communication to students and stakeholders, while actively promoting diversity and
inclusion.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable college, state, and federal
regulations related to admissions and student records. - Knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS), admissions operations, and
student data management. - Skill in maintaining accurate, confidential student records and ensuring compliance with institutional and
regulatory requirements. - Skill in effective written and verbal communication with students, staff, and external
stakeholders. - Ability to manage multiple admissions transactions efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to maintain
strong attention to detail and accuracy in admissions and registration activities. - Ability to work independently while following
established policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years’ job-related
experience - Equivalent related experience (above the minimum required) may be substituted for the required education for up to 2
years.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office
working environment.
Schedule Designation:
- Typically, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. May be
required to work after-hours and/or weekends. - This role will be required to work onsite in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
