Description:
The Admissions Counselor provides recruiting support to Traditional Admissions through territory and application management. Travel responsibilities in an assigned region along with virtual visits and college fairs will equate to 30% of the role responsibilities. In addition, the Admissions Counselor will be responsible for all aspects of application management including data entry, application review and decision making, communicating with prospective students, their families and college/guidance counselors to move students through the admissions cycle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Travel to assigned region and visit high schools to recruit students to the College as necessary.
2. Attend assigned College Fairs and College Nights as a representative of the College (in person and virtual).
3. Execute high volumes of travel during the Fall and Spring seasons to attend recruitment events, college fairs, and high school visits to promote enrollment and engage with prospective students.
4. Promote opportunities in academics, athletics and student life to prospective students and their families, including communicating information regarding all majors, minors, programs and services offered by the college.
5. Move prospective students from inquiry to applicant to deposited student by working collaboratively with admissions team.
6. Effectively manage prospective student inquiries using applicable technology (Salesforce platform) and track information in the enrollment database to move students through the admissions process
7. Attend campus visit days and events, including Open Houses, yield events, and virtual events.
8. Collaborate with campus constituents to provide prospective students with a positive admissions process experience.
Qualifications:
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Prior experience in college admissions preferred
- Proficient with applicable technology, experience with Slate desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Strong commitment to providing an exceptional experience for students and families
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a teams
- Able to react and adapt to changing situations appropriately
- Commitment to confidentiality Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Able to sit and/or stand throughout entire work time
- Able to climb stairs, lift, bend and carry up to 25 lbs without assistance
- Able to independently travel to various locations on and off campus
- Able to work irregular, extended and weekend hours as necessary to achieve objectives
- Valid driver’s license
