Under the direction of the team doctor and head athletic trainer provide
medical care to all student athletes of Immaculata University and any visiting institution in competition with Immaculata. Provide emergency
medical response for all Immaculata Athletic practices and games. Monitor the athletic training clinic to provide a safe and professional
environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, care and
rehabilitation of all athletic injuries sustained by Immaculata University student-athletes as outlined in the NATA Domains of Athletic
Training below:
Injury and Illness Prevention and Wellness promotion
- Ensuring a safe playing environment
by minimizing safety hazards - Selected, fitting, and maintaining protective equipment
- Conducting P.P.E’s
- Developing
training and conditioning programs
Examination, Assessment and Diagnosis
- Understanding the
pathology of injury and illness (anatomy/physiology) - Following Team Physician Standing orders
- Refer to supporting
services
Immediate and Emergency Care
- Recognize, evaluate, treat and refer emergency medical
conditions - AED, CPR and First aid certified
Therapeutic Intervention
- Design and supervise
rehabilitation programs - Incorporate therapeutic modalities
Healthcare Administration and Professional
Responsibility
- Record Keeping
- Ordering equipment and Supplies
- Implementing policies and
procedures - Submitting secondary insurance claims to TPA. Providing guidance on requirements for processing.
- Maintaining
continuing education units - PA state licenses maintenance. Be in good standing with Pennsylvania State medical
board. - Maintain Board Certification (BOC)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adherence to the
NCAA Division III, CSAC, and Athletic Department standards. (NATA Code of Ethics) - Ensure all head coaches and appropriate staff
members keep current AED, CPR, and first aid certification. - Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the oversight of equipment and
inventory management of athletic training supplies. - Perform duties of clinical preceptors to Immaculata University athletic training
students - Represent the University and its athletic program, with honesty, integrity and sportsmanship at all times, to various
institutional programs and students, parents, the general public, alumni and external agencies. - Develop a positive, professional
relationship with faculty, staff, students, alumni and Mighty Mac Athletic Association members. - Contribute to the overall atmosphere
of the department through establishing positive, team-oriented working relationships with peers and by adhering to the department’s mission
statement and core values. - Work with various departments and personnel at the University to aid in the development of a positive
student-athlete experience. - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.

Minimum
Requirements:
- The ability to work evenings & weekends and travel
- Master’s or Bachelor’s in Athletic Training
from a CAATE accredited program - BOC certification in athletic training
- Current, or eligible for, state license of athletic
training in Pennsylvania - Good standing with NATA and EATA
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with ATS EMR system
- Experience with secondary insurance processes
- 2-3 years of collegiate experience are
preferred
