Description
Reporting
to the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management, the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management provides strategic and operational oversight
for key components of the Law School’s enrollment function, including recruitment, financial aid strategy, and enrollment analytics. The
Assistant Dean plays a critical role in shaping and executing enrollment strategies that advance the Law School’s mission, academic profile,
diversity goals, and financial sustainability. The Assistant Dean collaborates closely with faculty, senior administrators, the Office of
Student Affairs, Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and central university partners to attract, admit, enroll, and retain a
talented and diverse student body. Additional hours are required in the evenings and on weekends in support of special projects, travel, and
events.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Enrollment Leadership
- Partners with the Associate
Dean for Enrollment Management to develop, implement, and assess short- and long-term enrollment strategies aligned with institutional
priorities. - Analyzes enrollment trends, applicant behavior, and market data to inform decision-making and continuous
improvement. - Supports the development of multi-year enrollment and revenue projections.
Admissions and Recruitment
Operations
- Oversees day-to-day admissions and recruitment operations, including application review processes, yield initiatives, and
enrollment management workflows. - Supervises professional and support staff within the enrollment management and admissions office,
fostering a collaborative, data-informed, and student-centered culture. - Ensures compliance with ABA, AALS, university, and federal
regulations and reporting requirements.
Financial Aid and Scholarship Strategy
- Collaborates with the Associate Dean to
develop and manage scholarship and financial aid strategies that balance access, academic quality, and fiscal responsibility. - Monitors scholarship allocation and discount rates; evaluates ROI and effectiveness of aid policies.
- Works closely with the
university’s financial aid and bursar offices to ensure seamless coordination.
Outreach, Communications, and Events
- Contributes to the development of recruitment messaging and communications in partnership with Marketing and Communications.
- Represents the Law School at recruitment events, open houses, admitted student programs, and professional conferences, including
occasional evening and weekend commitments. - Builds and maintains relationships with pre-law advisors, pipeline programs, and
community partners.
Data, Reporting, and Assessment
- Oversees enrollment data collection, reporting, and analysis,
including dashboards and regular reporting to Law School leadership. - Uses CRM and admissions technologies to optimize recruitment
and enrollment processes. - Supports accreditation, ranking, and institutional research efforts related to admissions and
enrollment.
Collaboration and Institutional Engagement
- Serves as a key advisor to Law School leadership on
enrollment-related matters. - Collaborates with faculty and administrators on initiatives related to student success, retention, and
bar outcomes. - Participates in Law School and university committees as assigned.
- Attends seasonal evening and weekend
events as required. - Travels domestically and occasionally internationally for recruitment and admissions events.
- Performs
other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of
progressively responsible experience in law school or higher education enrollment management, admissions, or related areas. - Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing complex operational processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability
to translate data into actionable strategy. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge
of ABA and AALS standards and law school admissions practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor
degree preferred. - Proficiency in Ellucian Banner and LSAC Unite systems
