Position Summary
The Assistant Director, K-12 Programs (Part-time), supports the
College’s Workforce Learning Connection (WLC) and Dual Credit/Enrollment programs to expand real-world learning opportunities for middle and
high school students. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, and sustaining youth career awareness, career
exploration, and work-based learning experiences that align with the College’s dual-enrollment and career and technical education pathways.
The Assistant Director works collaboratively with K-12 districts, employers, and internal College stakeholders-including Academic Affairs,
Workforce, and Student Affairs-to ensure alignment between regional workforce needs and student learning experiences. This is a part-time
only position.
Primary Duties Performed
- Supports the Executive Director of K-12 Programs
and the Director of Youth Programs and Apprenticeships in providing leadership for the Workforce Learning Connection (WLC) and CTE Dual
Enrollment Academy. - Builds and sustains partnerships with area employers and school districts to expand real-world learning
opportunities for middle and high school students. - Develops programming for grades 6-12 focused on career awareness and exploration,
including site visits, job shadowing, career speakers, industry-recognized credential experiences, campus-based career exposure events,
internships, and apprenticeships. - Collaborates with the STLCC Employer Engagement Team and employers to identify and develop
structured internships and apprenticeships in high-need sectors such as advanced manufacturing, information technology, healthcare, and
biotechnology. - Provides professional development and engagement sessions for K-12 administrators, counselors, and teachers to
increase awareness of career-connected learning opportunities. - Coordinates with the College’s Grants and Foundation offices;
identifies and develops funding opportunities to advance youth and apprenticeship programming and completes grant
reports. - Coordinates and implements meetings, programs, and large-scale events focused on WLC initiatives and
offerings. - Performs supervisory functions.
- Performs other job-related duties as
assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
- Master’s Degree in Education, Business, or related
field required. - Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing or managing employer or K-12 partnerships
required. - Experience in education and workforce development required.
Working
Conditions
- Typically works in an office environment.
- Position requires the ability to deliver outreach
activities and work at multiple campuses and locations. - Requires reliable transportation for local travel up to 50 miles from
STLCC’s Florissant Valley campus. - Occasional evening or weekend work required for events or outreach
activities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs and sit/stand for long periods of
time.
