Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Sports Turf Field or Turf Grass Management and a minimum of two (2)
years’ experience in golf course maintenance is required. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills &
Abilities: Written and verbal communication. Lifting heavy objects. Ability to repair and maintain existing irrigation systems;
ability to operate grounds equipment as needed to perform tasks. Ability to effectively manage and supervise
personnel.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs all aspects of the golf course maintenance and
assist the Head Superintendent. Serves as acting supervisor when the Head Superintendent is absent. - Purchases products, monitor
daily records, and maintain inventory necessary for the successful operation of the gold course. Record keeping for payroll, inventory,
weather data, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications. - Inspects golf course and maintenance areas daily for vandalism and
environmental concerns. Applies fertilizer and chemicals when necessary. - Assists in supervision and instruction of staff
including but not limited to completing daily project schedules, informing the staff of procedures and standards, training staff the
appropriate safe way to operate machinery. - Assists in determining the immediate and future needs of the golf course including the
agronomic planning and implementation of the plan for the course.
Building/Grounds Supervisor I (KA20/61122777/FTE-S01078P),
full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band:
04. Salary range: $33,339.00 (minimum) -$47,509.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university but flexibility is required
to work outside of typical hours as needed.
