Position Overview
Rider University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) invites applications for an Associate Athletic Director, Operations & Facilities. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this individual will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all athletic facilities, game operations, and special events for Rider University’s NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The Associate Athletic Director is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality facilities and event experiences that support student-athlete success, fan engagement, and the University’s mission. The position oversees facilities management of athletic venues, capital planning support, event operations, scheduling, and staff supervision, and collaborates closely with campus partners and external stakeholders.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-3 years’ experience in athletic administration.
- Good organizational skills and both short-term and long-term planning abilities.
- Strong communication skills are a must and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and solve problems is critical.
- Experience and knowledge of how to run a Division I athletic competition and practice based on NCAA regulations. Knowledge of conference rules and regulations as it pertains to equipment and uniforms.
- Position must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and a duty to cooperate with, and furnish the NCAA, conference, or institution with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in, or knowledge of rules violations, as mandated by NCAA Bylaw 10.1.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
