Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public
institute of technology in Washington State, that provides students with the latest cutting edge skills relevant to today’s workplace.
LWTech offers ten applied bachelor’s degrees, more than 40 associate degrees and 93 professional certificates, in 43 areas of study,

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Audio Visual (AV) Specialist would assist
in the day-to-day operations of AV technology for the college. This position would be responsible for basic AV trouble shooting of the
college’s AV systems, IT ticket escalation in relation to AV, and assist the AV Systems Manager in the deployment of new AV technology for
classrooms, conference rooms, and multipurpose rooms. They would also perform basic to advanced technical tasks related to computer hardware
and operating systems related to AV systems.

Provide excellent customer service to the college community. Serve as first contact for
AV request made to the IT Helpdesk. Perform basic to advanced trouble shooting related to AV and computer technology. Assist the AV Systems
Manager in in the deployment of new AV technology not limited to installing, pulling cable, different telecommunications hardware, and
software, scaling switchers, matrix switchers, DSP’s, cameras, multiple extender types, amp’s, speakers, and live
events.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • First contact for all classroom ticket requests for classroom, conference room,
    and multiuse spaces. This includes but not limited to Extron equipment, controllers, DSP’s, scaling switchers, matrix switchers, speakers,
    amp’s, and cameras.
  • Support multiple conference platforms, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Canvas Studio, etc.
  • Conduct/provide
    inventory maintenance, repairs, installations, and disposal of AV equipment
  • Provide technical resolution on-stie and escalate
    unresolved requests to next level within ITS
  • Installation of new AV equipment when needed
  • Maintain ITS documentation
    according to standards
  • Follow IT security procedures at all times; inform and assist college employees with IT security
    procedures
  • Assist supervisor with department planning of goals and objectives and discharge other duties as assigned
  • Offer
    support to ITS support staff when needed
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience related to the above functions
  • Two years
    minimum IT experience installing and maintaining audio visual, computer software, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure
    equipment; or providing customer technical support
  • Working technical knowledge of the latest operating systems, network protocols,
    and standards
  • Ability to read and understand all relevant documents, including blueprints, block diagrams, OEM guides, procedural
    documentation, and technical manuals
  • Ability to provide a good customer-service orientation
  • Must be comfortable working at
    varying heights, including climbing ladders, stairs, and using lifts.

Certifications and Experience:

  • Extron AV Associate, Dante Level 1, Biamp Tesira
  • CompTia A+ or CTS preferred.
  • Experience
    beyond supporting PCs to include Apple Products, IP networks, mobile devices, Yealink phones, and/or classroom teaching technology.
  • Strong foundation of networking and OSI Model.

Compensation & Work Schedule
Salary is $7,116 per month. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week
position. Working hours are typically 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Some weekend and evenings may be required.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform range of physical motions; lifting (50-75lbs) and carrying; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time,
kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs, larders or utilizing lifts.
