The Behavioral Health Director is responsible for
the
leadership and oversight of the Behavioral Health program at Pikes Peak State College. This role shall assist the Director of Nursing
and
the Health Sciences division in providing leadership and management of program operations.
The Director ensures
program compliance
with approving bodies, curriculum standards, institutional policies, and workforce needs. The role encompasses
instructional quality,
faculty oversight, clinical coordination, budget and resource management, and ongoing program
improvement.
Minimum
Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited
institution. - Possess or eligible to
obtain Colorado Career & Technical Education (CTE) Credential. - Ability to manage
multiple priorities and deadlines. - Experience in purchasing, budgeting, and grant management experience.
- Documented
education or experience in instructional
methodology, curriculum design, and program planning. - Knowledge of Behavioral Health
Administration regulations and Behavioral
Health Workforce requirements. - Supervisory experience.
Professional
level experience is defined by the Colorado
Division of Human. Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical
skill, judgment, personal accountability, and
responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body
of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S.
24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System
that are determined to be professional level
work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in the
mental/behavioral health field. - Project
management experience. - Unencumbered Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state
of Colorado. - Ability to read, write, and speak
fluent Spanish. - Experience training or teaching
behavioral health content.

Essential Functions
- Serve as the Director for Behavioral Health in accordance with all
programs and state requirements. - Provide leadership for
the development and oversight of all Behavioral Health programs including
course scheduling, staffing, and student support. - Supervise and evaluate program faculty and staff; promote inclusive, high-impact
instructional practices. - Cultivate
partnerships with external and internal stakeholders to exemplify and sustain a positive climate
of collaboration and inclusiveness. - Cultivate partnerships with behavioral health employers, related community agencies, and
professional organizations. - Conduct
regular program reviews according to college guidelines and utilize findings and data to
improve programs, operations and increase student
achievement. - Ensure the department curriculum meets the needs of students and
aligns with college, state, and national requirements
and accrediting bodies. - Responsible for leading the curriculum development,
design, and implementation for all behavioral health
courses and programs, ensuring alignment with state and accreditation standards as well
as collaborating with faculty to identify needed
updates. - Prepare institutional, state, and national reports on a timely
basis. - Provide oversite of the
alignment of curriculum to ensure students gain the competencies to succeed in transfer and career
and technical
areas. - Advises students in behavioral health programs on course selection, career options, internships, and transfer
opportunities, addressing student issues and concerns. - Coordinate student clinical education with community
partners.

with program and
course information, related industry certifications and licensure requirements, and correlation to behavioral health

- Provide proactive and
holistic support for students; this includes providing outreach, differential instruction with high expectations,
and high support for
students of varied preparedness. - Promote student success through inclusive, accessible, multi-modal,
challenging, equity minded,
student-centered, and engaging instruction.
