The Business and Computer Technology Program Coordinator provides academic, operational, and technology-focused support for
programs within the Business and Computer Technology area, including Business, Information Systems including Cybersecurity, Computer
Science, and related certificates or micro-credentials. Under the direction of the Dean, the Coordinator supports curriculum planning,
course scheduling, advising, industry engagement, and program improvement initiatives.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE

Program Operations and Academic Support


  • Coordinate
    daily operations of Business and Computer Technology programs.
  • Assist the faculty and dean with creating course schedules aligned
    with student demand, instructional resources, and workforce expectations.
  • Support faculty with curriculum planning, applied
    learning integration, and program documentation.
  • Maintain program materials, advising resources, schedules, and related
    records.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of adjunct instructors; provide mentorship and resources to promote
    instructional excellence.

Information Systems Lab Oversight

  • Manage all aspects of the
    Information Systems Lab, including scheduling, equipment access, safety, software installation, and hardware maintenance.
  • Provide
    oversight and scheduling for IS lab assistants and student workers, including onboarding, training, and task assignment.
  • Collaborate heavily with faculty to continuously evolve the lab’s technology, cybersecurity resources, and instructional tools as
    industry standards change.
  • Track and coordinate technology purchases, upgrades, licensing needs, and inventory control in alignment
    with College policies.
  • Ensure safe, accessible, and innovative learning environments for students and faculty.

Student Advising


  • Provide academic advising exclusively for Business and Computer Technology students.
  • Assist students in course selection, degree planning, credential pathways, and workforce preparation.
  • Support students’
    understanding of internship options, applied learning experiences, and career pathways.
  • Maintain accurate advising documentation
    and refer complex cases to the Advising Office or faculty advisors as needed.

Transfer, Articulation, and Pathway
Relations

  • Assist the Dean and faculty in maintaining selected transfer and articulation agreements relevant to
    Business and Computer Technology programs.
  • Support updates to articulation documents and ensure they remain accessible to advisors
    and students.
  • Maintain advising resources outlining approved transfer pathways and university partnerships.

Industry Engagement and Workforce Alignment


  • Assist the Dean and faculty in engaging employers to gather
    input, strengthen curriculum relevance, and identify pathway opportunities.
  • Support coordination of employer visits, guest
    speakers, lab tours, and applied learning collaborations.
  • Promote internship, cooperative learning, and job-placement opportunities
    in partnership with faculty and industry contacts.

Perkins and Reporting Support (Limited Scope)

  • Coordinate and help lead industry-specific advisory councils for each discipline within the school, ensuring ongoing input from
    employers and professionals to shape program content, technology integration, and credentialing pathways.
  • Contribute to Perkins
    documentation, including tracking equipment, technology purchases, and program improvements.
  • Assist in gathering data and
    supporting compliance needs related to Career and Technical Education reporting.

Recruitment, Outreach, and Community
Engagement


  • Represent Business and Computer Technology programs at recruitment events, employer visits, and community
    activities.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop program materials, industry-aligned messaging, and visibility strategies.

Collaboration and Institutional Participation

  • Collaborate with IT, Facilities, Procurement, and
    Marketing regarding lab needs, equipment updates, and program logistics.
  • Participate in program review and student learning
    outcomes assessment to support continuous improvement.
  • Track and manage program budgets, monitor spending, and initiate purchasing
    in accordance with College policies and priorities.
  • Serve on institutional committees and engage in College initiatives as
    assigned.
  • Support Business and Computer Technology faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Abilities, Education and
Experience)

  1. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in Business, Information
    Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  2. Two years of administrative, event coordination, or program management
    experience, preferably in an academic environment.
  3. Proficiency with technology tools, software systems, computer labs, or IT
    environments.
  4. Experience in advising, instructional support, or academic coordination.
  5. Experience tracking budgets,
    procurement processes, and inventory control.
  6. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  7. Ability to
    work collaboratively in a team environment with diverse stakeholders.
  8. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a
    motor vehicle record acceptable to the College’s insurance carrier for authorized driver status.

Equivalency
Statement


For those candidates who do not exactly meet all the minimum qualifications, an equivalent combination of
education and experience, which has provided comparable knowledge and abilities, will be acceptable.

Qualifications:


PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience)


1. Bachelor’s degree in a related area.



2. Experience supervising student workers or front-line staff in technical or
instructional environments.


3. Demonstrated experience with instructional planning, student advising, or curriculum coordination in
an academic or industry setting.



4. Experience teaching or in a corporate training environment.


5. Knowledge of regional and
national workforce needs in business, IT, and technology fields.



6. Familiarity with academic program assessment and curriculum
development.
