Job Summary
Job Responsibilities:
As part of the Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education, the Career Services Advisor provides direct career development, career success, and experiential learning direction and support to students in the College of Science and College of Heath Sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and counsel students in the College of Science and the College of Health Sciences regarding career plans and prospective employment on an individual basis, utilizing face-to-face appointments/meetings, e-mail, and the phone.
- Develop and deliver customized instruction on job search strategies, career trends and issues, and workplace success through seminars, workshops, designated classes, and class-based presentations
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students regarding employment opportunities, instructional program/services offerings, employer recruiting events, and important career trend information.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators in assigned academic units to ensure services and support to students is being effectively provided; key decision-making and assessment information are available, and the student career development goals of both the university and the academic unit are being achieved.
- Serve as account manager to assigned employer representatives to ensure positive and effective university and employer recruiting and hiring partnerships, participating, as needed, in employer hiring strategy development and recruiting activities and programs
- Market students, academic programs, and both university and office programs and services to prospective employing organizations to identify employment opportunities, establish new employer recruiting partnerships, and support related university corporate outreach and partnership goals.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science and interest in gaining a Master’s Degree in Higher Education in the future.
