Job Summary:
At Bucknell, we embrace our responsibility to help undergraduate students launch the career journey that follows graduation. To assist our seniors in the Freeman College of Management in navigating a very challenging 2026 job market, we seek a colleague to deliver bold, personalized guidance on the mechanics of aggressive final-semester job search strategies. The successful candidate will assess students’ market and career readiness, co-create proactive search plans, coach students through the execution of these plans, monitor individual student progress, provide continuous, actionable feedback, and deliver real-time progress updates to senior leadership. To best support current priorities, we are seeking to expedite the start date for this position.

This position is designed as a full-time, casual/temporary appointment, with an anticipated start as soon as possible through May 31, 2026. Part-time arrangements may be considered for an exceptional candidate. The position requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and expanded hours during peak periods to meet student demand and availability.



This position is a casual, non-exempt, non-benefits-eligible staff position.


Job Duties:

Brief Job Summary:

The Career Search Accelerator prepares and closely advises students on effective near-term strategies to pursue meaningful full-time employment in fields including accounting, real estate, business analytics, finance, marketing, human resources and consulting.


What You Will Do:

Primary Responsibilities/Functions:


  • Case-manage portfolio of graduating seniors through active, customized final-semester job search processes.
  • At a minimum, perform weekly advisory outreach to still-seeking students and engage live with each student at least biweekly.
  • Assess each specific student’s job search readiness, challenges and opportunities. Diagnose deficits in essential career building skills, such as writing resumes and cover letters, optimizing LinkedIn and on-line profiles, networking, researching roles and potential employers, managing behavioral and technical interviews. Lead students through remediation processes that may include mock interviews, workshops, career fairs, corporate information sessions, and significant one-on-one coaching.
  • Collaborate with each student to co-create a proactive and individualized near-term search plan.
  • Connect students with resources (on campus and beyond) that can accelerate search success.
  • Monitor each student’s execution of their personalized plan and provide ongoing, actionable feedback.
  • Deliver weekly updates on student progress and outcomes to leadership in the Freeman College of Management and the Bucknell Center for Career Advancement. Recommend new initiatives, programming, and resources to address emerging student needs, as necessary.

What You Will Bring:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years business experience

Preference will be given to:


  • Candidates who are familiar with Bucknell
  • Candidates who have served in formal hiring or recruiting roles or with prior career coaching experience
  • Candidates who have experience working with undergraduate students
  • Candidates who have a proficiency with recruiting or career management platforms such as LinkedIn

  • Perseverance and demonstrated follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to individual student needs.


Location:

On-campus, in-person work is preferred. Hybrid or remote work may also be considered, in some locations, for the right candidate.

Physical Requirements:


Basic office environment. No extraordinary physical demands required.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate’s credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
