Position Overview
The Career Services Advisor is accountable for supporting measurable graduate employment outcomes through
structured career advising, employer engagement via Handshake, and proactive alumni outreach.
This role focuses on practical
placement activity, employment verification, and engagement metrics aligned with institutional workforce and regulatory goals.
Primary Responsibilities
Placement & Student Advising
- Ensure
100% of
near-graduates have active Handshake profiles with completed resumes and job preferences prior to graduation. - Provide
scheduled
1:1 and group career advising sessions, including resume review, interview preparation, and targeted job search strategies. -
Develop and deliver documented career pathway guidance aligned with program outcomes, including national wage data and related
occupational
options. - Refer students requiring advanced coaching to TimelyCare Success Coaching and track referral
utilization. -
Conduct structured outreach to near-graduates at 60 and 30 days prior to graduation and maintain monthly follow-up
with active alumni job
seekers.
Employer Engagement & Job Pipeline
Support
- Recruit,
approve, and maintain active employer accounts on Handshake, ensuring accurate job postings aligned
with institutional programs. -
Proactively solicit new job postings, internships, and applied learning opportunities, and maintain a
defined target of active postings per
program area each month. - Coordinate employer participation in at least one employer-facing
virtual event or guest webinar per
quarter. - Support employer engagement for placement purposes without negotiating enterprise
partnerships or institutional
contracts.
Career Education & Alumni
Engagement
- Plan and deliver a
minimum of one career-focused webinar per month with recorded access and attendance
tracking. - Develop and distribute career
readiness resources, including resume templates, job search guides, and industry pathway
documents. - Provide employment outcome
data and employer spotlights to Marketing for institutional messaging. - Coordinate
at least one alumni-facing virtual networking
event, career session, or guest webinar per quarter. - Produce and coordinate the
distribution of a monthly career-focused alumni
newsletter highlighting job postings and career advancement tips. - Conduct
quarterly alumni engagement campaigns to track
employment progression.
Career Outcomes
Tracking & Reporting
- Track
graduate employment outcomes at 3- and 6-month intervals post-graduation, including
employment status and wage data when available. - Document verified employment data in institutional systems to support
accreditation, regulatory reporting, and earnings premium
analysis. - Maintain a monthly dashboard tracking placement rates,
employer activity, webinar participation, and Handshake
engagement metrics.

Skills &
Experience You Bring to ACHS
- Demonstrated experience in career advising, workforce
development, recruiting, or employment
placement, with a track record of supporting measurable job placement outcomes. - Excellent
communication, coaching, and
motivational skills to guide diverse student and alumni populations in job search strategies, resume
development, and interview
preparation. - Strong relationship-building and outreach skills, with the ability to engage employers,
alumni, and community
partners to create employment opportunities for graduates. - Proficiency using career services or applicant
tracking platforms
(e.g., Handshake or similar systems).
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no
supervisory
responsibilities.

environment. This
