Job Summary
The Cash Analyst supports the management of cash flow and ensures financial accuracy for UT Tyler and the UT Tyler Health Science Center. This role works closely with the Manager to confirm that cash, electronic fund transfers, online deposits, and credit card transactions are received and processed promptly in compliance with UT Tyler policies. The Cash Analyst is also responsible for conducting detailed analyses, preparing various reports, performing reconciliations, and completing daily cash reporting as needed.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks



  • Accountable for cash planning, forecasting, bank reconciliations, wire transfer journal entries and the entry of pledges during AFR.
  • Contribute to the management of cash flow, including detailed analysis of revenue.
  • Process daily reports for cash position, deposits for bank accounts and monthly incentive tracking.
  • Prepare and distribute daily email correspondence with payment notice for UTHSCT/UTT contacts.
  • Build and maintain templates for bank wires for UT bank accounts.
  • Complete and produce analysis of unclaimed property, payments and yearly State Unclaimed Property report.
  • Facilitate monthly sales reconciliation when needed.
  • Examine and reclassify payments posted to default accounts for UTT and UTHSCT.
  • Analyze, prepare and post monthly journals from the business office.
  • Assemble regular and accurate reconciliation of UTHSCT bank statements.
  • Serve as the primary role to release USAS (Uniform Statewide Accounting System) batches.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of AP pay cycle batches and check batches.
  • Execute ad hoc duties and reporting.
  • Assist with ongoing process improvement initiatives, leading projects for streamlining and achieving efficiencies.
  • Provide reports to various stakeholders as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the areas of cashiering, cash collection, reconciliations, bank transactions, or accounting.
  • May accept a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education/Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems or financial management software

  • Demonstrated knowledge of PeopleSoft and USAS, online banking, UTIMCO CPS, and UTIMCO CRIS.

  • Utilize a variety of communication styles to achieve successful outcomes and negotiate agreements.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain productive relationships with internal and external audiences.

  • Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
