Job Description:


SUMMARY

Manages the Systems Administrator team in Enterprise Application Services (EAS) while simultaneously managing the change strategy and project execution for IT implementations across the College. Responsible for coordinating day-to-day team operations, including scheduling, coaching, and performance assessment, and driving the successful completion of unit goals. Furthermore, develops and maintains the IT Change Management roadmap and process, coordinating and managing projects, and ensuring all stakeholders, including the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and executive leadership, are aligned and informed of project status, risks, and change impact. The role requires a strong focus on both supervisory excellence and the successful adoption and transition of new IT services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Manages day-to-day operations and staff including scheduling and assigning work, coaching, and assessing individual and team performance.
  • Develops and maintains the change management strategy and roadmap for IT project implementations and/or upgrades.
  • Coordinates and manages project team members, vendors, and cross-functional teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and meeting their commitments.
  • Tracks project progress, identifies potential roadblocks, and reports status and risks to stakeholders and executive leadership regularly.
  • Ensures all project deliverables meet quality standards and are successfully transitioned to operational support.
  • Communicates change schedules, status, and impact to all relevant stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and end-users.
  • Organizes and chairs the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, ensuring all necessary approvals and resources are secured before deployment.
  • Continuously reviews and refines the IT Change Management process to improve speed, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Establishes metrics to monitor change readiness, adoption, and overall success, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Leads the completion of unit goals, objectives, and expectations.
  • Leads cross-training efforts to ensure support continuity throughout the team.
  • Provides analysis, consultation, and recommendations to Systems Administrators, as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains the necessary troubleshooting documentation.
  • Assists with the preparation of monthly K.P.I. metrics and recommendations for ITS leadership to facilitate management decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING


  • Bachelor’s degree in I.T., Computer Science, or related field.
  • Significant related experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum of six years of full-time professional experience in related field, with a strong focus on either Change Management or Project Management
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling, and ensuring the quality of the work of others.
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Demonstrated proficiency in various project methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering communications, training programs, and coaching to help end-users adopt new systems or processes. Demonstrated experience with Ellucian Banner and its associated Ellucian applications (Concur, DegreeWorks, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES


  • Possess intermediate proficiency with ERP Banner System (or equivalent program)

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.
  • The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
  • Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

Target Starting Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000
The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
