About the Job
The primary role of the Content Creation Specialist is to
execute and support efforts to increase awareness, knowledge and interest in the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR). This position will
effectively and creatively communicate UMR news and information to key stakeholders and will distribute information to reach target
audiences through UMR’s website, social media channels, email newsletters, media relations and and additional communication
platforms.
Open to discussion about remote work.
This role is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship.
Duties and
Responsibilities
Content Creation and Internal Communications
- Develop, compile, edit and send internal and external communications
including a weekly e-newsletter, event invitations, external e-newsletters, formal communications and ad hoc communications. - Write,
edit and proof internal and external communications, utilizing Associated Press (AP) style guidelines. - Assist in managing the
universities internal communication channels, such as emails, newsletters and print pieces - Ensure internal communications messages
are consistent across all mediums.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience or working knowledge of
internal and external communication channels - Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of AP style
guidelines.
Preferred
- Pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English or a related
field. - Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be creative and strategic in amplifying stories
through internal/external communications vehicles. - Willing to innovate, experiment and try new things.
- Utilize strong
organizational skills and attention to detail while being able to juggle multiple tasks in a professional manner. - Model UMR values
of respect, diversity and inclusivity, community, evidenced-based decision making, and human potential.

Department
The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR), located in downtown Rochester, serves nearly 1,200 students and

Pay and
Benefits
Pay Range: $17.00 per hour
