Job Summary
At the Faculty Teaching and Learning Center (FTLC), we are committed to supporting faculty in engaged teaching. We strive to serve all faculty and, through them, support student success.
The Coordinator works closely with the Director of the Faculty Teaching and Learning Center and FTLC staff to support the department’s mission. This position is responsible for coordinating logistics for faculty professional development events, including scheduling, marketing, and providing support for both in-person and online programming. The Coordinator also maintains accurate records and contributes to the smooth operation of the department through collaborative planning, communication, and administrative coordination.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and event logistics.
- Ability to coordinate communication, scheduling, and marketing for events, including workshops, trainings, and other faculty development programming.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and track expenditures and budget transfers with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Forms, and Lists; familiarity with Copilot is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across a variety of formats.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and collegially with a wide range of campus offices and stakeholders.
- Responsiveness and professionalism in communication and follow-through.
- Flexibility and adaptability in adjusting to changing priorities and improving processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Job Duties:
Responsibility / Duty: Coordinate Faculty Teaching and Learning Center Programming
- Coordinate with FTLC colleagues and campus partners to plan and support logistics for faculty development programming, including workshops, trainings, and events.
- Manage scheduling, room reservations, and technology needs for in-person and online events.
- Track participation and maintain accurate records for reporting and assessment purposes.
- In collaboration with FTLC staff, evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, feedback surveys, and data analysis to continuously improve faculty development programs.
- Support the Director and FTLC staff with administrative tasks related to programming and departmental operations.
Responsibility / Duty: Adjunct Faculty Training Fund Coordination
- Track and maintain accurate records of adjunct faculty training fund expenditures.
- Manage spreadsheets and documentation related to fund usage.
- Communicate with faculty and staff regarding fund eligibility, processes, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with FTLC leadership to ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and reporting requirements.
Responsibility / Duty: FTLC Partnerships & Marketing
- Collaborate with FTLC staff to develop and disseminate creative marketing materials for faculty development programming.
- Coordinate with campus partners to support and promote faculty development opportunities.
- Connect regularly with other departments and offices that provide faculty development to align and coordinate marketing efforts.
- Gather content and create weekly newsletter updates using platforms such as Mailchimp.
- Maintain and track edit requests for the FTLC website in coordination with the FTLC Director.
Responsibility / Duty: Other Duties as Assigned
- Support additional departmental initiatives and responsibilities as needed.
Minimum qualifications
- Four (4) to six (6) years of direct, paid experience.
- Part-time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.
- Higher education may count toward experience if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience in professional development or administrative support in a higher education setting.
- Secondary or post-secondary teaching experience.
- Experience with marketing strategies and platforms.
- Proficiency with Canvas.
