Florida A&M University
is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for several Coordinator Academic Support Services vacancies. This opening
will be used to fill positions 19513, 19540, 19570, 19786, and 19827.



Responsibilities


The primary responsibility of
the Academic Success Coach is to utilize analytical insights, degree academic planning tools, and various technology tools to deliver
consistently high-quality services to FAMU students. The Academic Success Coach builds relationships and listens to undergraduate students
as they develop/monitor degree plans and assist with registration and enrolment campaigns; and explains academic policies, procedures, and
guidelines and help students navigate the college and university-level administrative processes.



Uses the degree audit, academic
planner, Civitas, and iRattler to create persistence, progression, and timely graduation pathways; Implements strategies to increase
registration and enrollment, timely graduation, and track outcomes; Supports student retention and graduation initiatives; Identifies and
helps to resolve barriers that impede academic success; serves as the primary contact for assigned cohort(s) and assist with schedule
planning, registration, four and three-year plans, and career and graduate/professional school planning.

Responsible for providing
students with essential information related to University, College, and program policies, procedures, and resources; Analyzes students’
academic and personal issues and refer students to the appropriate campus resources; Completes initial and ongoing training and participate
in professional development programs; Achieves established metrics, which may include contact hours, appointments, and associated summary
reports, assigned students continuing to the next term; Adheres to the standards developed to enhance the student experience; and meets
regularly with students to assess their academic progress and identify areas for improvement.


Develops individualized academic
success plans for students based on their goals and needs; Assists students in setting academic goals and monitoring their progress toward
achieving those goals; Collaborates with faculty members and other campus partners to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and
guidance; Participates in training and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and stay abreast of best practices
in academic coaching; and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years experience; or
master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.

Recommended
Competencies

Two years experience working in higher education, particularly in academic advising or
coaching;

Strong communication and interpersonal skills;


Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population;

Knowledge of academic support services and resources available on campus;


Familiarity with student development theory and best
practices in academic coaching;

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students; and


Commitment to promoting student success and retention.


Pay
Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P)
position.

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of
