DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director of the Center on Global Justice and under the work direction of the Field Researcher
3, Cross-Border Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the planning, scheduling, and instruction of programmatic
activities in the UCSD-Earth Lab community station in the southeast San Diego neighborhood of Encanto. The work takes place at Earth Lab,
which is adjacent to Millennial Tech Middle School. The position entails developing curricula for the school day Bending the Curve for Youth
(BtC4Youth) climate action curriculum and the Earth Lab after school program.

The activities consist of program meetings, events,
and presentations. The specialist will work with the Field Researcher 3 and GWSD Director of Education to develop, collect materials for,
archive, and document activities at the field site. The specialist will also lead instruction and provide curatorial support for Earth Lab
showcases in collaboration with the CGJ design team.



Assists in analyzing program content and delivery needs and participates in
discussions determining the effectiveness of current programs and methodologies. Participates in team meetings that address program
planning, implementation and evaluation. Applies organization policies, procedures and programs to address program needs that are limited in
scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing program content and delivery needs and determining effectiveness of current
programs and methodologies.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public policy, or
    related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Knowledge of educational program content and objectives. Knowledge of health
    behavior change principles and the science of public health and environmental toxicity.
  • Knowledge of how to deliver and manage
    educational programs. Ability to effectively develop curriculum content and promote the program with community
    stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to work on program or targeted audience needs assessments.
  • Attention to detail in project
    execution.
  • Strong reading, verbal, written communications and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with diverse populations
    in Spanish and English.
  • Experience using business software systems in the completion of work assignments, i.e., Word, Excel, Access,
    PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a greater
    team.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be available for occasional weekend and evening programming.
  • Job
    offer is contingent on satisfactory completion of Background Check.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends and/or overnight domestic or
    international travel may be required.
  • Must be able to travel off campus to field sites. Must have reliable
    transportation.

Mandatory CANRA (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act) Reporter – must read and sign an acknowledgement of status
and reporting obligations.


Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $51,000 – $84,800 (will be prorated if the
appointment percentage is less than 100%)



Hourly Equivalent: $24.43 – $40.61

Factors in determining the appropriate
compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and
organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University
reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this
position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
