The Academic Foundations Center seeks a curriculum developer who will design, create, and update educational materials (lesson plans, assessments, digital resources) by collaborating with subject matter experts, analyzing learning needs and ensure course curriculum align with current standards and goals. They will use instructional design principles and educational technology to foster effective, engaging learning experiences for various learners. Key responsibilities include needs assessment, material development, teacher training, data analysis for evaluation, and staying current with educational trends.

Key duties include:


  • Design & Development: Create comprehensive curricula, lesson plans, learning objectives, assessments, and digital content.
  • Collaboration: Work with instructors, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct research and analysis to identify learning gaps and strategic needs.
  • Training & Support: Provide training to educators on implementing new curricula.

Minimum Education and Experience

Full-time Rutgers University-Newark Faculty or senior-level Administrators who have previous teaching and/or working experience with first-generation students, especially from Newark or Greater Newark.


Must have a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree strongly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.
