Description:

The University of Florida’s Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
Custodial Worker II to support the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of campus facilities. This position plays a vital role in
maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.



Position Overview

The Custodial Worker II will be working at our Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred, perform custodial services for
additional campus buildings, and ensure all cleaning tasks meet UF standards. This role involves both coordination and hands-on work,
requiring flexibility, organization, and initiative.



Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate contracted custodial
    services for six major buildings, including scheduling workloads, managing supplies, and addressing immediate custodial
    needs.
  • Provide custodial services for seven minor buildings and one major building, including restrooms, offices, classrooms,
    conference spaces, and public areas.
  • Perform a wide range of custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, carpet cleaning,
    window washing, and sanitizing restrooms.
  • Track and maintain custodial supply inventory, ensure equipment is in good working order,
    and assist with purchasing supplies within budget.
  • Coordinate set-up and clean-up for events in Ben Hill Griffin Hall, ensuring
    spaces are prepared and properly maintained.
  • Support additional campus needs as assigned, including use of a state vehicle for
    travel to other regional Research and Education Centers.

Expected Salary:


$16-$18/hr.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of ninth (9th) grade and two (2) years of experience in the field or
in a related area.


Valid driver’s license.


Preferred:

Ability to schedule and coordinate custodial
workers.
Knowledge of cleaning products available for cleaning.
Ability to order in a timely fashion for re-supply.
Ability to
juggle manpower to accommodate emergency situations.
Ability to resolve personnel problems with a minimum of job interference
(3)
years of custodial experience
Critical thinking skills
Time management skills
