The Facility Operations department exists to
serve students, faculty and staff by maintaining an environment conducive to learning and efficient operations. Our department offers
Building Custodial Services, Building Maintenance Services, Construction Projects, Grounds and Landscape Maintenance and Mail Services.
Job Summary
- Provides structure and oversight for entry-level employees. Prioritizes work assignments within a given
routine and assigns tasks. Participates in performing custodial duties. Monitors work for quality, accuracy, and completeness to ensure
compliance with departmental sanitation standards. - Manages and controls equipment and chemicals assigned to a given routine.
Maintains and orders supplies. - Inspects assigned areas and equipment to ensure that the quality of care is consistent with
departmental standards. - Reports staff concerns, areas of deficiency, and any need for building maintenance to the shift supervisor
for appropriate action. - Trains new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment, products, departmental policies, and standards. May
review and approve timesheets. - Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Assists with snow removal activities as
necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- High
school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED) with 1 year of custodial experience and demonstrated leadership skills OR - General
knowledge at the high school level with 2 years of experience at the foundational custodian level and demonstrated leadership
skills

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as
well as the ability to move about the workplace for long durations. It requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery,
tools, and controls. The role requires the ability to ascend/descend ladders/stairs, and to position one’s self in low level positions,
detect a variety of chemicals and/or gases. The role requires the ability to ascend to rooftops and move in tight spaces to perform and
complete inspections. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Available to work during inclement weather (i.e. snow and ice) when weather emergencies dictate that the department is needed to take
care of the campus.
