Position
Overview:

Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) division is seeking a highly skilled
and motivated Database Administrator Manager to join our Application Solutions department. This role is responsible for
managing all aspects of the Database Administration unit, ensuring optimal performance and success for all projects and activities performed
by the team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to client success.



Key Responsibilities

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include but is not limited to the
following essential duties:


Acquisition/Implementation/Installation

– Plan, size, install, and test
databases and related technologies to support acquisition, development, and implementation of databases and related technologies.


Budget Management

– Prepare the departmental annual budget with regard to the operating budget of the team and
manage the training budget for the team.


Product Management

– Optimize database performance and apply
system patches, install upgrade, and troubleshoot issues.


Project and Portfolio Management

– Ensure
successful delivery of all project and activities.


– Manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction.

Resource Management


– Assign personnel to projects and tasks.

– Direct activities, evaluate
performance, and prepare reports.


– Mentor, train, and develop staff professionally.

Security and
Continuity


– Manage database security, including access control and ensure secure and optimal data storage.

Solution Hosting and Management


– Maintain database integrity and performance, backup and recovery processes
post implementation.

Qualifications
:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and four years of related experience; or a combination
of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Preference may be given
to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:


– Five or more years of database
administration experience

– Supervisory experience in technical teams, preferably within database administration



Expertise with Oracle and enterprise-class database systems

– Proven success in project management, resource planning, and
strategic leadership


– Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build productive cross-functional
partnerships

– Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with advancements in database technologies

Salary: $100,000 – $111,000

FLSA Status: Exempt
