Position Information
The
EAOP Regional Assistant Director is responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of the Early Academic Outreach Program in their
assigned region. They will serve as the primary EAOP contact at school sites, advise program participants and their families on
post-secondary educational and career options, and collaborate with counselors, the Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Career
Center.
In addition, this role also includes hiring and training University Mentors, planning and coordinating activities that
support college admission and enrollment. This is a full-time career position.
The salary range for the EAOP Regional Assistant
Director is $57,700-$99,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale is up to $62,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of
considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants
must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an
employment Visa for staff.

- Bachelor’s degree in related area
and/or equivalent experience/training.
Experience
- 4 – 7 years of related experience.

Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to
establish and maintains cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and
community contacts. Strong knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Knowledge
of K-12 and higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret
policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. Knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory, including
issues facing low-income, first generation urban youth. Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and
issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies. Strong knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements.
Significant experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status.

Scope
The EAOP Regional Assistant Director is an experienced K-14 academic preparation professional who works independently
and is focused on increasing college access and academic preparedness for program participants. The individual will manage outreach
initiatives, deliver grade-appropriate college readiness advising, and supervise university mentors. Additionally, the individual will
expand the program’s outreach efforts by building partnerships with K-14 schools, higher education institutions, and community organizations
to support and increase postsecondary enrollment. This is a full-time career position.
Key
Responsibilities
- Delivers individual and group advising services and maintains relationships with a group of K-14
students. - Assist program participants with navigating the college admission process by identifying eligible colleges and
universities, supporting completion of college and financial aid applications, and advising on admission-related requirements and
deadlines. - Develops student academic plans to ensure post-secondary admission eligibility.
- Acts as advocate for
students and parents. - Reviews program participants’ academic transcripts and makes recommendations as needed for postsecondary
admission, providing guidance and resources to support students and their families in making informed decisions regarding postsecondary
educational and career options. - Plans and implements college-going field trips and activities.
- Which may include, but are
not limited to, Northern California tours and overnight residential programs. - Responsible for meeting the objectives of the
program, as set forth by the campus and the UC System - Designs and implements grade-appropriate college-going workshops,
curricula, materials and activities. - Delivers college-going workshops to parents and families at community and school sponsored
events. - Including, but not limited to, recruitment events and activities that will yield the required number of EAOP
participants. - Develops and maintains relationships with parents/families to support student academic success and access to higher
education. - Develops collaborative relationships with other college-going programs and K-14 higher education
personnel. - Participates in strategic and program planning.
- Serves on department, organization, and external committees,
workgroups, and coordinating bodies. - Attends all staff meetings and meets with contacts in high schools as
needed. - Produces program reports, collects student data, documents participant contacts and progress, and tracks academic progress
of program participants. - Reviews and analyzes data related to assigned schools to better understand the needs of EAOP participants
and school sites. - Trains, supervises, and evaluates job performance of part-time, student, and/or summer staff.
- Ensures
student staff (university mentors) are properly trained and knowledgeable about the college admission process for each segment of higher
education in California - Other duties as necessary.
