Job Description:
The Enrollment Research Data
Analyst III serves as a key contributor to Iowa State University’s data-driven enrollment and financial aid strategy. This role utilizes
advanced statistical modeling, strategic reporting frameworks, and high-impact analysis to inform institutional policy, planning, and
operational effectiveness. The analyst collaborates across functional teams including admissions, financial aid, and the registrar, as well
as with institutional research, the ITS reporting team, and finance. The insights provided by this position support recruitment, yield, and
retention efforts, while optimizing institutional financial aid to achieve enrollment and net tuition revenue goals. Additionally, the
analyst will source and integrate new data, contributing to the development and maintenance of the university’s data
warehouse.
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience conducting full-time
employment statistical or econometric modeling, along with experience in higher education in areas such as admissions, enrollment,
retention, or financial aid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain predictive models (e.g., yield, retention,
financial aid impact) to support strategic enrollment management. - Review and develop enrollment and financial aid budget
projections. - Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze student behavior, demographic trends, and aid
utilization. - Conduct demand analysis to evaluate recruitment markets and inform recruitment strategies.
- Develop econometric
models to guide tuition and financial aid policies, and model financial aid strategies to improve enrollment, student success, and net
revenue outcomes. - Present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders, translating technical findings into clear, actionable
strategies. - Create and refine dashboards and reports to monitor key enrollment and financial aid metrics, delivering actionable
insights. - Produce internal and external reports, including submissions to the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, Common Data Set, and
U.S. Department of Education. - Identify, assess, and integrate new internal and external data sources to enhance enrollment and
financial aid analysis. - Collaborate with colleagues across IT, institutional research, and ERA to develop and maintain the
university’s data warehouse, maintain data integrity and document processes. - Provide data governance and security guidance, ensuring
compliance with FERPA, Higher Education Act, and other federal and state privacy laws. - Respond to ad-hoc data requests and provide
leadership in compiling, managing, and analyzing data to inform university policy discussions.

The Office of Enrollment Research and Analytics within Enrollment Management at Iowa State University supports the
University’s mission by advancing data-informed strategies that optimize student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and success. The team
works collaboratively with campus partners to provide insight, analysis, and strategic support through the management of institutional data
and reporting. Enrollment Management includes functional areas such as admissions, financial aid, registrar, and student success
initiatives, and is committed to fostering access, informed decision-making, and continuous improvement across the student
lifecycle.

This is a full on-site position based
in Ames, Iowa, and the selected candidate must be able to commute and work on-site from the start of
