Summary of Job
Duties:
The Facilities Services Technician is responsible for the daily parking garage maintenance and general labor
activities. This position performs maintenance by collecting and removing trash from the parking structures and the surrounding grounds;
operates power washing and floor care equipment; drives university vehicles and utility vehicles, occasionally with trailers; operates
custodial equipment and performs minor custodial equipment maintenance; assists in parking facility preventive maintenance; supervises
part-time maintenance assistant positions; and requests supplies as needed. The Maintenance Assistant reports any needed repairs and safety
issues encountered in the facilities. This position is weather essential.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an
essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with
others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of sufficient education or
training to read and write - At least two years of experience performing ground keeping and/or the maintenance of lawn-care
equipment - Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- The formal education equivalent of a high school
diploma
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and safety requirements of custodial
equipment - Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and safety requirements of motorized vehicles and equipment
- Ability to
perform routine building and grounds maintenance work
