Position Summary:
The Graduate Recruiter plays a pivotal role in recruiting, advising, and enrolling prospective students into Henderson State University’s graduate programs. This position is central to the University’s transition to an in-house graduate recruitment and enrollment model following the conclusion of external recruitment partnerships.
The Recruiter serves as a primary point of contact for prospective graduate students, works closely with academic departments, the Graduate Studies Coordinator, and the Graduate Admissions & Student Services Coordinator, and supports enrollment growth through relationship-based advising, targeted outreach, and data-informed recruitment strategies. This role is focused on recruitment, pre-matriculation advising, enrollment support, and retention strategy, and does not process applications, interpret academic policy, or maintain official student records.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Graduate Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop and implement recruitment and enrollment strategies in collaboration with Graduate Studies leadership and academic departments
- Support the development of enrollment pipelines
Prospective Student Advising & Enrollment Support
- Provide individualized guidance to adult and professional learners, balancing academic, personal, and professional commitments
- Respond to inquiries via email, phone, and virtual platforms in a timely, professional, and student-centered manner
Application Review & Admissions Coordination
- Prepare, communicate, and track admissions decisions in collaboration with academic departments and Graduate Studies leadership
- Support yield initiatives, onboarding communications, and pre-enrollment engagement for admitted students
Faculty & Campus Collaboration
- Partner with graduate program directors, deans, and admissions staff to align recruitment and enrollment efforts with academic priorities
- Serve as a liaison between prospective students and academic departments to ensure consistent and accurate program messaging
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and current applicant and enrollment records
- Track and analyze enrollment metrics
- Prepare reports and dashboards
- Identify enrollment trends and recommend adjustments
Marketing & Communications
- Assist with the development and execution of graduate recruitment and enrollment communications
- Collaborate with University marketing staff to support website content, digital campaigns, presentations, and promotional materials targeted to graduate audiences
Policy & Compliance
- Ensure admissions and enrollment processes comply with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and FERPA regulations
- Support consistent, equitable, and transparent enrollment practices across graduate programs

General Days/Hours:
* On-campus work environment, except when engaged in approved travel

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with prospective students, adult learners, or professional populations
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree
* Two plus years of experience in higher education admissions, enrollment management, recruiting, or student services
* Experience recruiting and enrolling students in graduate or professional programs
* Familiarity with student information systems or CRMs (e.g., Banner and Slate)
* Experience supporting enrollment growth initiatives
