Position Summary


The Graphic
Designer develops high-quality visual communications that advance the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s brand, recruitment, engagement,
and strategic priorities. Reporting to the Marketing Project Manager, this mostly on-campus position conceptualizes and executes creative
solutions across print, digital, environmental (campus signage and branding), and motion platforms.

As a member of the university
marketing team, the Graphic Designer collaborates with writers, photographers, videographers, web professionals, and campus partners to
translate strategic goals into compelling visual communications. This role serves as a steward of the UW-Eau Claire brand and ensures all
materials align with university brand standards, accessibility requirements, and best practices.



Key
Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes and executes creative solutions across print, digital and motion media.
  • Translates
    marketing and communication strategies into compelling visual communications that support recruitment, retention, and engagement
    goals.
  • Applies creative expertise within established brand and style guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Serves as
    a steward of the UW-Eau Claire brand, maintaining brand integrity across all materials.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously,
    maintaining timelines and quality.
  • Prepares production-ready files and ensures deliverables meet technical specifications for print,
    web, and digital platforms.
  • Coordinates with in-house printing services and occasionally external vendors to obtain quotes, manage
    production timelines and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintains organized project files and documentation.
  • Works
    collaboratively with writers, photographers, videographers, and other marketing specialists to develop integrated
    campaigns.
  • Evaluates requests and recommends effective communication solutions aligned with audience goals and brand
    strategy.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or a related
    field.
  • Minimum of three years of full-time professional experience in graphic design or a related creative
    role.
  • Demonstrated experience applying and working within established brand guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
    (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet
    deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and
    collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of digital accessibility best practices and
    experience producing content that is usable by individuals with diverse physical and cognitive abilities.
  • Experience preparing
    graphics for web, environmental, print, and digital applications.
  • Experience creating motion graphics and assets for video or
    digital advertising (e.g., After Effects).
  • Familiarity with project management tools and collaborative
    workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience designing materials that advance strategic communication goals.
