The Building Services Department is seeking (1) Groundskeeper III to join the already

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO


The ideal candidate performs groundskeeping and landscape maintenance duties. Serves as
a work group leader and may help train/orient Groundskeeper I/II employees on methods and procedures. In addition to supporting the
department, Groundskeeper III assignments will generally fall into one of the following groupings, although overlapping of duties may occur
as needed:

  • Organizes the work assignments of Groundskeeper I/II employees; prepares simple reports on the work performance.
  • Issues equipment and supplies to grounds crew employees.
  • Inspects the campus for needed cleaning and
    repair.
  • Inspects the work of Grounds Keeper I/II employees and makes corrections as needed.
  • Trains Groundskeeper I/II
    employees in landscaping methods and proper groundskeeping practices and procedures.
  • Performs grounds cleaning duties in the
    absence of co-workers; helps with large cleaning tasks.
  • Performs groundskeeping duties for absent co-workers.
  • Performs
    other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and two years of groundskeeping experience.
  • A valid
    Georgia driver’s license is required.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:


  • Landscaping experience, especially in
    large-scale landscaping, is preferred.
  • Vocational training in horticulture or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of
    proper landscaping methods, practices, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of properly caring for plants, trees, shrubbery, and
    grasses.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to
    operate hand tools and equipment used in groundskeeping, such as lawnmowers, weed-eaters, shears, trimmers, etc.
  • Ability to operate
    a motor vehicle.
