The Helpdesk technician is the first level of support for the helpdesk area. This position is responsible for managing all venues of assistance from walk-in traffic to phone, ticket & email support. This person must be able to work well with the IT team and have excellent customer service skills.

- Supports helpdesk requests for service
Diagnose and repair software/hardware problems for PC’s and Macs

Provide general assistance to faculty, staff, and students in the use of their computers and university supported software
25%Manage and support point of sales support for Aramark food service (Transact) This consists of approximately 7 food service locations on campus and clubhouse areas.
15%Backup AV specialist with AV support/requests for classroom instruction and events on campus
5%Log Helpdesk calls completely and accurately by documenting all pertinent end-user identification information and detailed nature of the problem using the Helpdesk ticket tracking system.
5%Contribute to the development, documentation, and cross-training for other helpdesk technicians with hardware and software installations, general troubleshooting, service, repair, and maintenance procedures

Assist telecommunication area with office phone setups/support. Maintain and support backend dashboard for phone console, troubleshooting phone lines, fax lines and phone units.

Backup all duties and responsibilities assigned to Sr. PC Technician in their absence
5% - Typical Qualifications

Associates Degree in Computer Sciences or a related field is acceptable
Ability to successfully pass a Level I background check.
Minimum of 3 years technical background with computer experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles of PC and or Macintosh use and operation.
- Knowledge of Office Applications, Windows/Mac operating systems and various pc peripheral devices (such as scanners, digital cameras, printers, and so forth).
- Knowledge of LANs/WANs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university employees and the community
