Job Summary:
Serve as the human resources professional consultant for assigned campus(es)
supporting employees and supervisors with the talent acquisition and onboarding functions. The human resources consultant is accountable for
administering and supporting policies, procedures, and programs that will develop and sustain an inclusive, collaborative, and
high-performance culture.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support
supervisors in the hiring process by assisting them with job requisitions, reviewing and approving applicants, interview questions,
professional references, salary calculations, routing offers of employment, and onboarding candidates. - Support faculty search
committees throughout the search, hiring, and onboarding processes. Provide training to search committees on the process and related
systems. - Provide insight and guidance as needed on various federal, state, and local regulations and college district policies and
procedures affecting talent acquisition. - Develop and maintain a pool of qualified candidates to meet the ongoing staffing needs of
the college. This may include hosting and attending hiring events and contacting community services, peer institutions, and employment
agencies. - Answer and resolve employment-related inquiries and provide internal and external customers with complete and accurate
information based on district policies and procedures. - Provide support and guidance to hiring managers on best practices in the
recruitment and selection process for faculty positions and/or other employee groups. - Assist in administering the performance
appraisal process and assist supervisors to ensure that all probationary reviews and annual performance appraisals are completed. - Assist the human resources manager(s) with the development and implementation of HR-related training. Conduct HR-related training for
employees and supervisors as needed. - Regularly review business process statuses on job changes, job requisitions, onboarding, job
changes, and separations to ensure that internal data is up to date, and documents are processed in a timely manner. - Assist
supervisors with the termination process and notify appropriate staff regarding employee resignations, terminations, and job changes. - Assist in the development, streamlining, implementation, and documentation of human resources processes and procedures. Assist with
development, troubleshooting, testing and end-user support and training for various HR systems. - Regularly communicate and
collaborate with HR colleagues and manager(s) to ensure consistency with district procedures and processes.

Physical Demands,
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force
frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves
sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are
met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free
from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort
required.
Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in Human Resources or
a closely related field or at least seven (7) years in Human Resources in an institution of higher education or school system.
Preferred
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Licenses and Certifications
PHR/SHRM
certification, preferred.
