Description
The IT Department invites applications for a Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst to provide configuration, coordination, and analysis in support of the University’s IAM infrastructure. This position plays a key role in ensuring secure and efficient user access to institutional systems, with particular focus on account lifecycle management, identity data flow, group provisioning, and single sign-on services. The analyst works closely with IT stakeholders, security personnel, and end users to support effective IAM solutions aligned with institutional standards and goals.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in managing IAM platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), including provisioning logic, SSO integration, and account synchronization
- Configure policies for access management, multifactor authentication (MFA), and group-based role assignment
- Analyze user access requirements and resolve account-related issues, including login failures, role mismatches, or data discrepancies
- Coordinate testing and deployment of IAM changes in collaboration with engineering staff and system owners
- Engage with departments across campus to understand business needs and ensure IAM services meet compliance and usability expectations
- Maintain documentation for IAM processes, workflows, and system configurations
- Collaborate with the Information Security Office to align IAM practices with institutional security standards
- Participate in risk analysis and audit preparation related to identity access control
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of IAM concepts and platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, Active Directory, or similar systems
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues in user identity, access provisioning, or authentication workflows
- Ability to gather requirements, communicate effectively, and coordinate solutions with both technical and non-technical staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- Experience supporting IAM systems in a higher education environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, InCommon, or cloud-based IAM tools
- Industry certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, CISSP) is desirable

Position Number: 480520
Compensation Title: Computer Systems Analyst II
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (flex for special projects), 12 months/year
Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
