About the College:
Landmark College offers a continuum of academic programs to meet students where they are and help them
achieve the goals they set for themselves. In addition to semester-semester, Putney-based programs, Landmark College offers intersession
programs (summer and winter), online/hybrid programs, and experiential programs such as study away and study abroad to matriculated and
non-matriculated students. LC Online serves the year-round needs of students participating in a Landmark College experience through these
different modalities.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Online Instructional Designer (ID) works in collaboration with the
Co-Director for LC Online Undergraduate Programs to design, develop, and revise online courses using innovative pedagogy and existing
research on neurodiversity and online learning. The ID works in collaboration with the Co-Director for LC Online Undergraduate Programs to
prepare classes for delivery each term and ensure course development and revisions are completed on time.
SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate with the Co-Director for LC Online Undergraduate Programs
to determine schedules for new course development and course revisions
• Create and revise
online courses in collaboration with a subject matter expert (SME)
• Apply learning
theory/research and related technologies in the creation and delivery of credit and non-credit bearing courses for neurodivergent learners.
• Copy and prepare courses for reoffering each semester
•
Identify higher education and industry trends and best practices for inclusion and access.
•
Identify and implement efficiencies in online course design and delivery
•
Assist with the management of the online dual enrollment program
• Perform
basic office duties
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND
SKILLS:
A bachelor’s degree in education, learning design, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field is
required. Experience in instructional design principles and instructional strategies is essential. Expertise across the Microsoft Office
Suite and expertise using the Canvas LMS is required. Familiarity with online accessibility guidelines is needed. The position demands
strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The candidate must be able to quickly develop an understanding of (a) Landmark College’s
cultural climate, (b) Universal Design pedagogical practices, and (c) neurodivergent student profiles. This individual must also be able to
work collaboratively with Landmark College faculty and staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties require significant and
regular interaction with Landmark College faculty, staff, and students. This position requires working full-time on the Landmark College
Campus in Putney, VT.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
The position requires operating desktop computers, mobile devices, and
digital devices for extended periods, a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies, and the ability to efficiently respond to
multiple priorities.
